<h3>Awards for "Innovations for Gram-Negative Antibiotic Discovery" Announced</h3>The Gates Foundation, Novo Nordisk Foundation, and Wellcome today <a href="https://www.gatesfoundation.org/ideas/media-center/press-releases/2026/01/amr-research-funding-combats-global-health-challenges" target="_blank">announced</a> the awarding of new grant funding to eighteen projects led by research teams across 17 countries under the Innovations for Gram-Negative Antibiotic Discovery challenge.These awards can be viewed <a href="https://bit.ly/3YUdelQ" target="_blank">here</a>. <h3>African Scientific Leaders Outline Focused Actions to Strengthen Health R&D</h3>While national and regional policies have sought to address long-standing barriers within Africa’s R&D ecosystem, many challenges persist, particularly at the operational level.
